PDL™ Product Description
The Personal Data Librarian™ (PDL™) is an innovative tool for managing data independent of its file name, file type or where it is located in your computer or network. It allows you to access items by “category” wherever it is located. One document, photo or e-mail can be in several different categories.
The PDL™ complements the capability of Microsoft Office.

PDL™ provides:
- A powerful technique for organizing and categorizing all your data items: documents, spreadsheets, Email messages, PowerPoint presentations, Access databases, contacts, images, URLs, music files, etc.
- Capability to Index non-electronic documents stored in a Filing Cabinet or Boxes
- Data items can be indexed to multiple categories making it easy to find items with the powerful FIND function.
- An innovative way for viewing and quickly finding a data item or a group of items.
- Import commands and drag and drop capability to easily index folders into PDL.
- Easily Categorize documents immediately after they are saved using the Watch function.
- Find items or groups of items and easily save them to a fixed or removable drive.
- An innovative dynamic help feature which guides the user to rapidly learn to use PDL.
The user can:
- Right Click on Categories to create a category tree.
- Use one of the buttons to import files and Outlook items.
- Drag files from Windows Explore or Outlook.
- Drag URLs from the browser.
The User can quickly learn how to use the PDL™
- Click on Categorize mode, Find Mode, Watch Mode, Categories, Attributes and read the dynamic help text in the Help Pane.
The PDL™ User Manual is written in “tutorial” style with lots of screen shots for speed learning.
