Loading Files

1. Install PDL™ and Start it up.
2. Read and Clear Splash Screen.
3. Click Import File Folder button.
4. Click My Documents.
5. Click OK (Wait as My Documents are loaded into the PDL™).
6. My Documents are now loaded into the Category tree under the Files category with each folder as a sub-category.

Creating Personal Categories

1. Scroll to the top of the Category tree.
2. Right click on Categories.
3. Click on New Category.
4. Type FOOBAR as the category name & hit Enter.
5. Click on any item in the Items pane.
6. Click on the box next to FOOBAR in the Category tree (FOOBAR will be low in the category tree).
7. The Item is now in the FOOBAR Category & the Category corresponding to the folder containing the item.

Finding an Item

1. Select Find mode by clicking on the Find tab.
2. Expand the Files category by clicking on the plus (+) sign.
3. Click on the box next to the My Documents category.
4. All the items in My Documents are now visible in the Items pane.
5. Check the box next to the FOOBAR category.
6. The item you categorized magically appears by itself in the Items pane.

Loading Outlook Files

1. Select Categories mode by clicking on the Categorize tab.
2. Click Import Outlook Folders button.
3. Click OK (Be patient as all your Outlook folders and their contents are loaded.).
4. All Outlook folders are now Categories and their contents are Items in the PDL™.
5. The Outlook folders are under Outlook in the category tree.
6. Any file can be categorized in Outlook categories, My Documents categories and any new categories that you create.

Hints

1. The next time you import My Documents or Outlook folders only items new to the PDL™ will appear in the Items pane.
2. You can open an item by selecting it with a single click and hitting Enter or double clicking on the item.
